The secret a mother had buried
That day, in the suddenly silent reception room, Emily placed a cardboard folder on the table. And everything collapsed.
David’s mother, Eleanor, had orchestrated everything. Upon learning of Emily’s pregnancy, she understood that a family inheritance would go to the children. To maintain control of the money, she intercepted the mail, blocked the messages, and convinced Emily that David wanted nothing more to do with her.
“You chose money over your own family,” David whispered.
