Common changes that can occur after age 70 and why it’s important to know about them early

Increased sensitivity to temperature variations

After age 70, the body regulates temperature less effectively. You may feel cold more quickly, or conversely, find it difficult to tolerate high temperatures. This isn’t a quirk of the body, but a natural adjustment of its internal mechanisms.

Wearing multiple layers of clothing, avoiding extreme temperatures and remembering to drink regularly, even without feeling thirsty, helps to stay comfortable and prevent discomfort related to temperature fluctuations.

Digestion that requires more attention

With age, digestion sometimes slows down. The feeling of fullness arrives more quickly, bowel movements may change, and the absorption of certain nutrients becomes less efficient. Again, nothing to worry about: it’s an invitation to eat differently.

Smaller but more frequent meals, rich in natural fiber and well-spaced throughout the day, promote digestive comfort. Sufficient hydration also plays a vital role in maintaining smooth digestion.
