The broken vow

The damp ocean breeze caressed the balcony of the peaceful coastal cottage where I had sought refuge, a stark contrast to the suffocating opulence of the mansion I shared with Adrian Blake.  🚪Two days earlier, my three-year marriage had abruptly ended on our anniversary. After leaving me waiting for hours by a cold, yet meticulously prepared, dinner, Adrian had crossed our threshold accompanied by Sophia, his lifelong obsession. Sophia wore “The Star Tear,” an extraordinary diamond necklace I had admired a week earlier, and which Adrian had deemed insignificant before secretly buying it for her. When I confronted them, Sophia feigned a stumble, and in a terrifying fit of rage, Adrian slapped me so hard I lost my hearing. As he held Sophia in his arms, promising to protect her, I realized I was a complete stranger in my own home.✉️

The next morning, I went to the emergency room to have my facial injury examined and discovered a truth that shattered my world: I was six weeks pregnant. This news brought me no joy, only a profound sense of protection for the child growing inside me. I signed the divorce papers I had hidden in my office for months, took only the things I had bought with my own money, and delivered the legal documents, along with the pregnancy confirmation, to Adrian’s headquarters before boarding my flight. When Adrian opened the envelope and realized he had hit his pregnant wife, he collapsed to his knees in his office, desperately trying to reach me. But I had cut off all contact, determined to erase Blake’s name from my life forever…
