The broken vow

When Adrian’s image appeared on the screen, his eyes filled with tears. “Elena,” he whispered, his voice choked with emotion. “Please… just give me five minutes to talk to you without the lawyers. Under the terms of this agreement, Adrian relinquished all his rights to my father’s estate, agreed to a complete financial separation, and signed a binding confidentiality agreement protecting my privacy and the safety of our child.
